The Foes of Israel
Very briefly, I speak sympathetically, for the Jew here. Let me address myself for a moment or two to Israel's foes. they have been many. I suppose the most hated, and the most despised people on the earth today are th Jewish people. They have been hunted down and hated and harassed by other nations all through their history. Back in the Old Testament, from the very beginning of their dealings in Egypt, they have been a hated and despised people. Yes, Israel has many foes. There are reasons for this.
Fiest of all , the descendants of Ishmael feel that they have a claim to that land. The descendants of Esau, the Edomites, felt they had a claim to that land. And let's not be too hard on the Arabs. After all,Abramham is their father. He was the father of Ishmael, and those Arabs say, " Wait a minute; Abraham is our father, as much as he is your father. He fathered Ishmael, and that land belongs to us. " Let's not be hard on the Arabs feelings that they have a right to this land.
They don't understand the Scriptures and God's choice, and God's sovereign selection, but they feel justified. " What about Esau? He was the elder. Yes, he sold his birthright for a bowl of stew, we'll all grant that." But he will still say, " That land belongs to me as much as to the offspring of my brother, Jacob." So, there are some justifiable reasons why the Arabs are hating the Jews and always berating them, and seeking to take from them what they have.
But God didn't give it to the descendants of Ishmael, or to the descendants of Esau. He gave it to the descendants of Isaac and Jacob. It's their property. It's their possession.
What about the other nations? Why do other nations hate the Jews? Some years ago I wrote a little book called, The End of this Present World, and I did some research on the wealth in the land of Israel, and I came up with these figures, all authentic. Today, you can multiply these dollars by ten. When I wrote this book about thirteen years ago, in the Dead Sea alone, there were estimated to be one billion, three hundrend million tons of potash, at $70 billion. There were 853 million tons of Bromide, valued at $260 billion. There were 11 billion, 900 million tons of salt in the Dead Sea, valued at $27 billion, 500 million. There were 81 million tons of gypsum, valued at $120 million. There were 6 billion tons of calcium chloride, valuedat $820 billion...making a total value, estimated, at 1 trillion, 267 billions, 500 million dollars, in the Dead Sea alone. And they tell us today, that you can multiply that in the present market by ten!
Can you wonder why Russia wants to reach down and grab that little choice morsel of land? Yes, Israel has foes. But God gave that land to Israel unconditionally, and any nation who ever puts their hands on that nation, and on that land, will pa y at the hand of a righteous God who will judge them.
